Greyhound Adoption League is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was established by Lorri & Gary Tracy in
1985. Each year GAL places greyhounds in the Tucson area and surrounding counties. GAL maintains contact with
the breeders, trainers and kennels at Tucson Greyhound Park to try and ensure that the dogs waiting to come in are cared for
while also bringing in greyhounds weekly for placement in GAL's foster program. With her husband Gary's passing
in the summer of 2001, Lorri believing that the greyhounds where relying on her, has stayed true to her love for the breed
and tirelessly operates GAL with the help of dedicated volunteers willing to spend the countless hours required to find homes
for retired racing greyhounds.
GAL supports adoption programs across the western United States such as Greyhound Pets Inc., Homestretch Greyhound
Rescue & Adoption, Greyhounds 2 Go Adoptions and Greyhound Adoption & Rescue Las Vegas by providing ex-racing
greyhounds to their organizations as the need arises.
Greyhound Adoption Leagues goal is to help manage the ever increasing number of greyhounds that are coming off their
racing career at Tucson Greyhound Park. GAL has a strong base of foster homes in which to place their greyhounds in
until they find their forever homes. You will also find GAL's volunteers working adoption days four weekends a month
along with special events. With the demands that are placed before this organization, it is their belief that they do
make a difference for Tucson's ever growing ex-racing greyhound population and will continue their work with every day that
passes.
